2010 review

Doherty Hungary grew by 18% in 2010 (to date). It has been a great year for the development of the business and the growing of our customer base. This year most of the growth came from the domestic appliance sector. Last year, in the face of a serious recession, it was the automotive sector that gave us the growth. This was due mainly to new products being launched such as the electric park brake and energy efficient power steering motors that used our shafts. In 2010 we invested in three new turning machines and new measuring equipment which you can see in the photos. All machines, including the new ones, are running 3 shifts 5 days a week. In anticipation of new orders we completely refurbished two of our Petewe CNC grinders and they are now running with improved Cpk ratings. On the personnel front we are delighted to welcome Agnes Nagy to the company as HR Manager. In the next 6 months Agnes will be ensuring that all job descriptions, training plans and personnel reviews are all up to date and that we are developing all our staff to a higher level of potential. We have "refreshed" our corporate identity and it is being standardised across the business to include workwear, stationery, signs, banners, corporate gifts and promotional materials. On our Facebook page you can see some photographs of our stand at the Coil Winding show in Berlin where we met most of our customers and hopefully several new ones too !

Best wishes.

It may be a bit early but we wanted to wish all our customers, suppliers, partners and friends a very merry Christmas and prosperous new year. Christmas seems to be the only holiday in the year when we all have a break at the same time - so a real opportunity to relax - and get our energy levels back for 2011.
