June 2013, the month of new machines at Doherty Hungary

The investment plan continues at DH in 2013. This year’s plan includes two new turning machines, a vertical heat-treatment machine and two new grinders.

The two new Citizen A20 turning machines are already installed and running. With these DH has 5 Citizen A20’s out of our total 22 turning machines. These machines have stronger servo motors so we can increase the level of production efficiency accordingly.

Our new vertical heat treatment machine also arrived at the end of June. This new vertical machine enables us to induction harden parts with larger diameters and also larger diameter step changes than our horizontal machines. Through this a completely new technology will be added to our current in-house machine capability.

Further investment plans for this year are two new Ghiringelli centreless grinders. With these DH will have nine CNC centreless grinders.

There is also a six month long refurbishment program in progress, in which our through and plunge grinders will be refurbished until the end of this year. It is important for us to continuously upgrade our machines and technology.

By the end of 2013 DH will have a fairly modernised inventory that will ensure the appropriate quality and capacity for our customers.
